Ane my favourite Rishi Kapoor liner of the movie - ભાગ્ય હમારે, જો કામદેવ પધારે! Jaideep Sahni the writer provides all the freshness. High point - Parineeti's amazing performance in two scenes where she gets a lump in the throat that exudes vulnerability of the character. Extremely well written screenplay. Just an example...Gayatri has had her share of heartbreaks earlier in a few relationships and she is not open for one more. No Shaadi types. Raghu cajoles her, wooes her with his antics which leads to the first night spent by Raghu at Gayatri's place. The next morning they open theirs eyes up together on the same bed. When you watch the film, please observe that while they have a warm romantic conversation, Gayatri's head is on her pillow but Raghu's head is on neatly folded dresses of Gayatri. Gayatri's old clothes are used as a pillow for Raghu. Why? Gayatri does not have another pillow in her home. Why? Because she does not want anyone in her life. She has suffered a severe heartbreak with the previous live in partner. Such minute detailing without making it obvious! Fab screenplay. The placement of old retro hindi songs on Radio to make fun of the thought pattern of the characters on screen is too good. The characters talking to the audience and explaining their respective stances is also quite an enjoyable part. Many might find it boring towards the stretched and clueless climax. I have a problem with Sushant's dialogue delivery. Here he is almost an image of Bittu of Band Baaja Baraat. કિરાયે કે બારાતી....ન્યૂ કન્સેપ્ટ પણ આવું થતું હશે? One more problem is the target audience. This film won't get many takers. Its not shuddh. Not Desi at all. Bold and confused. It did not have to be funny all through. It could have had believable scenes. બહુ બધા સીન્સ એવા છે જે જોઇને થાય કે આવું તે કઈ હોતું હશે યાર! Purely for its refreshing treatment I would go for 3.25 mirchis out of 5 Sep 06, 2013 1374
Sorry guys...wont get much time to write in detail about Ra.One as I have been out the whole day for work and mom just called up to come back home for Diwali. Cheap dialogues and hollow content make Ra.One a bumpy ride. Characters grabbing private parts of one another every now and then?!!!! Come on!!! Stunning visual effects. Shoddy writing. Jaadiyo Allen takes the cake. Its fun but would not have the same hangover as the first one. 3 mirchis Kung Fu Panda II - Cute. Humorous. Yeh Saali Zindagi - Chaotic, intricate, witty, intricate, exasperating. Irfaan epitomizes blind love. Chitrangada is not plastic. Saurabh Shukla is delightful. Sub plots and subsidiary characters leave their mark. At times the story shifts are annoying. So are the expletives. Rann - Too idealistic. Predictable plot. Erratic camera angles intensify the drama. Pathetic songs in background. Raghuvaran clone Sudeep hams as the disillusioned son. De Dana Dan - Akki tries too hard to be funny. Just too too too many characters and too many stories. One just loses track of who is who. Dialogues are just not funny. Ajab Prem - 3.25 mirchi out of 5! Nah...plz dont go with Andaaz Apna Apna expectations. It had witty dialogues, new situations and great characters. Though Ranbir excels in slapstick and goofy comedy, he is not given great lines. Katrina looks a bit old but compliments Ranbir well. Stammering part is boring but there are fun riot scenes too.
